Parnham's Woodwind Repairs workshop in Hadleigh, Suffolk provides professional restoration and repair of your treasured musical instruments. We can bring the complete range of the woodwind family from Piccolo to Bassoon back to peak playing condition. Kathy understands the need for musical instruments to always be in the best condition so that the player can enjoy the instrument to the full.

Check and Adjust

Check the instrument without removing keys as much as possible, replace pads and corks as needed, straighten keywork, regulate keys, oil screws.

Service

Dismantle, clean instrument thoroughly and replace a maximum of 4/5 pads and corks as necessary, adjust springs, straighten keywork, regulate keys, oil screws and springs.

Re-pad

Overhaul

We dismantle, overhaul and replace all pads, corks and felts, then we test the instrument to ensure pitch accuracy.

About Us

Ray Chinn

Kathy Parnham has been repairing and restoring woodwind instruments for over twenty years, having studied at Merton College London. As an experienced woodwind teacher Kathy is able to understand the customers needs and cater for their preferences.

Kathy is assisted by her husband Ray Chinn who is responsible for the cleaning and preparation of instruments prior to reassembly and offering an extra pair of hands when required.

With a fully equipped workshop Kathy is able to undertake emergency repairs, quick fixes or complete overhauls. She will always take the time to discuss your requirements.
